Molecular Prognostic Markers in Acute Myeloid Leukemia

3 - 5 October, 2008

The identification of molecular genetic changes such as gene mutations or deregulated gene expression has greatly advanced our understanding of the pathogenesis of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). These markers now allow us to dissect the enormous heterogeneity that is seen within cytogenetically defined subgroups of AML. In part, these markers have been shown to be of great prognostic implication. Furthermore, these genetic changes are providing targets for molecular therapeutic approaches. In this workshop, leading experts in the field will review current knowledge and present the latest developments on the pathogenesis and clinical impact of biomarkers as well as data on new molecular alterations derived from innovative genomics technologies.

If you would be interested in taking part as a participant, please visit www.esh.org/agenda08.htm to register on line and to book your hotelaccommodation. You are also welcome to contact EHA: education@ehaweb.org or ESH: marie-france.simon@univ-paris-diderot.fr for any supplementary information.
